Cancellation Policy

If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please call me at (207) 332-7235 as soon as possible to cancel and reschedule. To avoid a fee, please provide a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel an appointment. Full payment is required for any appointment canceled within 48 hours of the scheduled time, to be paid immediately. Full payment is required if you fail to cancel or arrive for your appointment, and that payment is due immediately. If canceling on short notice due to unforeseen circumstances, you may send someone else in your place to avoid a fee. This policy is to ensure that my business remains sustainable.

Modalities

  • Integrative massage sessions use a combination of techniques based on your and your body's individual needs and goals, releasing restrictive fascial adhesions and muscular hypertonicity. Elements of Swedish massage and deep tissue work, myofascial release, neuromuscular/trigger point therapy, and assisted stretching may be used. These sessions use hypoallergenic oils or lotions and light to very firm pressures with the client minimally dressed and comfortably draped.

  • Craniosacral therapy sessions use very light, slow touch systematically to help soothe and regulate the nervous system and gently smooth out restrictions in the body’s connective tissue system. These sessions do not require any disrobing, oils, or lotions. Please wear comfortable athletic or loose-fitting clothing for the best experience.

What to Expect

  • New clients must fill out a brief intake form and sign a waiver either at their first appointment or online before their appointment if you'd like to save time.
  • Masks are optional for clients. KN95 masks are available just outside the office door. For clients who choose to mask, I am happy to wear a mask for the duration of your appointment. Please let me know before you arrive so I can accommodate.
  • After you arrive we will discuss your goals for your session and together make a plan for how the session will go. Based on your goals, we may do short assessments of your posture and range of motion to determine what kind of massage will best support you. We may do some work with you fully dressed, either on the table or sitting in a chair.
  • For craniosacral therapy sessions, you will remain fully clothed for the duration.
  • Wearing loose-fitting or athletic clothing is recommended.
  • You will then be given a few minutes alone in the room to disrobe as much as you need and get comfortable on the table, covered with a sheet and blanket. I will step out to wash my hands and knock for your OK before entering the room.

  • Every session is unique to the individual's goals and needs.
  • For massage, you will be properly draped at all times with only the areas being worked on exposed.
  • A variety of strokes, pressures, and movements may be applied to: soften, open, or stretch your muscles and fascia to increase mobility and comfort; aid in lymphatic circulation; or simply help your nervous system to regulate.
  • There will be times when you can passively experience the work and times when you may be asked to gently resist the pressure I'm applying, take deep breaths, or reposition on the table.
  • Soft ambient music and/or white noise may be played depending on your preference.
  • The table warmer's temperature can be adjusted as you need in order to keep you comfortable for the duration.
  • At the end of your massage, I will again step out of the room and close the door behind me to wash my hands, giving you time to integrate and get dressed.
  • When I return we will discuss how the session went for you, identify which goals were met and what could be addressed before and during your next session. This is also the time for you to ask any relevant questions that may have arisen. Payment can be made at this time, and you can schedule your next session if you'd like.

Meet Moxcey

I provide personalized, integrative massage and craniosacral therapy to help people improve their physical comfort and function while accessing deep states of relaxation and integration. My goal is to aid each client's body's natural ability to function well, to heal, and to process the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual experiences of life.

I completed the Holistic Massage program at Spa Tech Institute in 2008. I opened my practice in Westbrook, Maine, in 2009, integrating modalities including Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, and neuromuscular therapy, as well as offering chair massage and making house calls. I received further training in muscle restore technique for head, neck, and shoulder pain as well as craniosacral therapy from the Upledger Institute. I enjoy continuing to study, learn, and modify my approach as our collective knowledge base of the human body deepens.

My approach is also informed by a decade of providing direct support to people with disabilities. As a Registered Maine Recreation Guide, I co-led many inclusive outdoor rec trips in Maine and New Hampshire with activities ranging from hiking and kayaking to winter sports. I'm also a hatha yoga practitioner with over twenty years of experience.
